Sarah Rice Johnson was one of Bradish Johnson’s daughters. She married an Englishman named Harry Douglas Forsyth, who also happened to be his banker. They settled in Esmont, Virginia and built a house called “Nydrie” that has since been torn down. The photo of Sarah standing in the doorway was taken at Nydrie, probably around 1915.
